So there's this 20 song challenge going on, and it seems to me there's two ways to play. You can either agonise for months and mourn over the songs you leave out - which for me would include Led Zeppelin, Helen Love, Motorhead, Talking Heads and the Softies - or you can take the first 20 songs that occur to you, line them up in an appopriate order and play real loud. I took the one less travelled by ...

I have no idea what I'm looking at. I mean I enjoy people who are eclectic, but would ou really choose Hey Ya for your twenty favorite songs all time? Imagine being on an island with just this cd? I think I would use the cd as a coconut cutter or as an illusional friend, rather then listen to some of the songs you selected. However if your mind is relaxed by this music then well, my opinons are useless.

But anything Led Zeppelin ever did is better then anyhting Courtney Love will ever do...

Get UR Freak On? Top 20 All time? Hey YA? That song is alrady corporate and its barley a year old...YOur better then this...get o work and message me.....

Why, Mr Rabidpants, would my mind need to be relaxed? This is an Up collection with a pause for reflection towards the middle. Actually, yes, I would really choose "Hey Ya" for one of my 20 favourite songs of all time. Today. I actually think it's one of the most inventive and - most importantly - relentlessly infectious pop songs I've ever heard. And I've heard a lot. And "Hey Ya" goes with "Crazy In Love" like margaritas go with a sunny day.And "Get UR Freak On" is simply exceptional. Sheer pop minimalism at its very best. And, to my mind, its closing instrumental wind-down is a wonderful way to lead the mix back to strummed white boy rock of the Only Ones.

And - last time - I would put about 20 Courtney Love songs up against everything on "In Through The Out Door" any day of the week. If you seriously think that "All My Love" is better than, say, "Awful", "Burn Black" or indeed "Zeplin Song" then you should seek help urgently.
Have a nice day, y'all

From early punk to radio-friendly R&B in the space of just a few songs? Cool!
