Ok, Ok, Ok,I just ripped some kids entry so he has the right to rip mine. I however split my selection into to parts Rock and Rap. Both have played an intricate part in my musical journey. I agree though looking at my whole collection of 17,685 mp3's to live life without all of it, is the same as not being alive.
The songs above are really just essential stepping stones to my musical experience. I mean if I was told to go to an island and pick twenty songs it would be somewhere consistent with this. Some changes would obviously be made if this list was permanent.
Ok so the first half is (10 songs) are the begining and end of rock (for me) and ditto for the second half, except the second half is hip-hop.
People I need to apologize to.....
Miles Davis, Lee Dorsey, James Brown, Lou Reed, Deltron, The whole Gorillaz team, Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, DJ Green Lantern, The Hives, The White Stripes, NY Rock in genereal, Lou Reed, The Streets, The Roots, OMG THE ROOTS, I'm so sorry, Biz Markie, Tupac, Incubus, Rage Against The Machine, Kings of Leon, and everyone else that keeps my iPod vibrating.....
And thank you AOTM for understanding some of us understand life so much that we only can listen to music to find sanity.

Dear Mr. Rabidpants, I guess there was a miscommunication, this wasn't meant to be a contest (or else I would win, due to the fact I picked my favorite 20 and it will beat your favorite 20 because it's mine, you see?). This was more of a challenge to pick your fav's, post them and let everyone see what music really gets you. I find it interesting that you picked several songs by the same artist, but felt bad for leaving other artists off, I'm not sure it that says something about you or not. I do like some of your picks and I appreciate you putting forth the effort and posting your favorite 20, thanks.
