Comment:

This is a mix for when it's the end of April and still cold, and all your friends are getting out of school in two weeks but you haven't even yet hit midterms. This is a mix about getting on a plane, or a bus, or a car-- it doesn't matter-- and going somewhere-- it doesn't matter where, because at least you'll be GOING, and right now you are just stuck right here. A lot of these songs have an undercurrent of sadness, no matter how brave and devil-may-care they sound, and this makes sense, because you never leave unless you feel bad about what you're leaving behind. And a lot of these songs are technically about leaving lovers, which is interesting, because these songs still feel perfectly pertinent.

I am not, in case you were wondering, actually getting out. I am staying right here, at school, where it is cold, and I am going to take my midterms and then I am going to take my finals and then I am going to get a job and here I will be still. But this is a mix of how I, in a way, wish I felt.

The title is from the Counting Crows' song.
