So I'm driving the twice the length and half the breadth of the country in August. And there will be times when I want to get down with my mildly ironic inner bad ass redneck self - the self I only discovered when I moved from Liverpool to Texas. This is the first part of a two part series for driving through Tennessee, Kentucky and the Appalachians - modern country leavened with a few touches of something or other.
