Tales of the Proverbial 2nd Chance v 84
Comment:
It doesn't really make sense if you don't listen to it....which you can.http://www.jonpoi.org/v84.htm
Feedback:
Sho' do be makin' some sense to me, sensei!
I don't really know most of the songs, but this looks fascinating. Doris Day followed by Iggy Pop is quite perverse. Good job.
Nice !
Thanx, guys. I hope y'all find time to give it a listen.
Now this looks exciting! The Cramps, Iggy Pop, Pizzicato Five - lots of lovely picks. Think I'll be going to give that a listen right now...
KILLER mix and website!
I know I'm commenting twice here, but I can't help it - This whole package is just incredible - though there is certainly some stiff competiton this week, I'm thinking MotW here. Great, great job.
Marie_H, thanx. Wait until you hear the yodeling backing up Johnny Rotten.

12vman,
I have tears welling up in my eyes.
Really.
Hontoo ni, thanks for the kudos on the website.

It all makes sense. Especially the Doris Day -> Iggy Pop. Welcome back to the, uhm, proverbial fold.
Dammit, Curtis...I am not really back....just kind of sneaking in.....squeezing one out.....pinching one off. Well, maybe not that. But it would be good to be back, thanks.
wow wow! & great
TrTs trTs bien 1what Marie_H said.
I'm listening to this as I type and I am in awe - not just of this mix, but your overall site and links. Respect.
Looking good Jon!
nicely eclectic mix. I haven't as yet checked out your website, but be assured I will now. Anyone who produces 84 volumes of anything deserves to be listened to!
Groovy mix. Love the cover. Big time.
Gawrsh, you folks are nice.
Excellent! Love the clips from Belleville Rendezvous. Great use of tools to mangle ends of songs, etc - especially the yoddling reprise in Flaming Lips. A lovely mix, full of humour & skill :)
Wow. I'm overwhelmed, thank you. And I've learned a great do word very appropriate for editing: mangle. I will use it with fondness. Thanx, again.
This looks awfully good.
Congrats on MOTW! This is very deserving of the honor!
Congratulations on the long overdue MotW Jon.
We humbly bow to the Far East and whisper: Congratulations Jon. Most deserving.
Absolutely, positively, you-betcha! The only thing that I can't believe is that none of Jon's other mixes have ever been chosen as MotW - Jon, this mix rocks, your concept rocks and your website is one of the best I've ever seen. I bow before you, unworthy. Congratulations!
Wellllllll, first of all, thanks to everyone who listened. There was an hour's worth of subliminal advertising in that mix and my shares in Zippy's AutoWax were sold today at six times what I paid for them. Seriously, you guys and gals really made me smile today with an added bonus of absolute known satisfaction. I was beginning to feel like the Susan Lucci of AOTM but, now, I know truly in my heart that I must be the Sally Fields of AOTM. And I do look forward with great interest, of passing on that distinction ASAP. Again, thanx.
congrats to a well deserved title
I Listened ... it made sense!
Now I MUST listen to the other 83 (...Yet I feel stragely compelled to wax my car)
Well done and Thanks!!

OUTSTANDING COVER, OUTSTANDING WEB-SITE...I'm sorry I've missed out on your previous mixes...I don't always agree with MOTWs but u most certainly deserve the honour and thank you for making your mixes available...truly exsquisite. CONGRATULATIONS. You exemplify The Art in Of The Mix!!!
P, RM and Dom, thanx a lot on all accounts. I think I lied about something, though. It really doesn't make sense even if you listen to it. Perhaps this is nothing but Impressionist Audio? Maybe I should have fuzzed up the cover, eh?
:) Really - thanx.
:) Really - thanx.
BTW I absolutely adore your covers and I could (and I'm trying to tear myself away as I write)take up residence on your web-site listening to your mixes!
Congratulations old friend. You've been posting mixes worthy of the title for a long long time.
Dammit, I miss Japan. Love the cover art + the Triplettes. Congrats on mix of the week. Out.
"Here, Here !" (encore)
I 2nd the accolades that preceed mine. Terrific...inevery aspect. Awesome web site & wonderful collection of mixes. Congratulations on a long overdue honor. This is an inspiration of a mix!

Welcome back to the AotM fold Jon! I've missed seeing your mixes and I'm really glad to see you back. When I was a young pup at the AotM farm your mixes were some of the first that kicked my ass and the quality of your artwork (along with Lennart Saaf'sinspired me to step up my own mix covers. And listening to your mixes online made many a crappy morning at work more tolerable. As always, great mix. Love the Iggy, Doris Day, and Ramones picks. I can't believe that this your first MotW. Congrats - I hope you celebrate by making another!
Congrats!
Hey jon...any chance of you fixing yr web site or creating another Tales Of Proverbial..am really missing it & I know I'm not alone on this!
Not familiar with some of this but the stuff i do know sounds like a very very intriguing collection. Looking forward to hearing it. Believe!
