Comment:
One of the first mixes I traded for on AOTM, and still one of my favorites, is Mo Twang!'s Our Friend Crippled Hand. Crippled Hand harkens back to the age when rock rediscovered country -- the twang and the sensibility. It was a time when everybody was reading "Mother Earth News" along with their "Rolling Stone." It was a time when all the cosmic cowboys seemed to be hanging out in Austin, and the Armadillo World Headquarters was the perfect place to spend a warm Texas evening. I think my favorite thing about Crippled Hand is singing along in my car, falsetto unfurled, with Judy Collins...... "Someday soooon, going with him, someday sooooooon!!" Only by myself, of course. And with the windows rolled up. My singing voice has been known to make grown men weep and to drop birds from the sky in mid-flight. But I digress. This is Cosmic American music, circa the Nixon Administration, and a humble appreciation for my AOTM buddy, Mo Twang!, mixologist magnifico. And after all, who couldn't use a little mo' twang!?
Feedback:
This is fantastic, great opening and closing tracks to frame the mix, and a wonderful assortment of songs in between!
Some great, great stuff here. Love the Basement Tapes and, well, a lot of stuff here.
Really, really, really great. Right Onn!!!
Wow. This is a great mix. Many thanks for the kind words.
Splendid.
Absolutely wonderful from start to finish. Truly not a bad cut to be found anywhere on this mix. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. Excellent.
Great liner notes to really capture the spirit. Loads of great stuff, but at the moment I'm especially fond of the Steve Miller pick since I've been spending a lot of time lately with his early records. Damn fine mix.
Wonderful mix dedicated to a wonder-full mixologista! We all need Mo' Twang!!! (Good Onn ya'...)
Speaking as a big fan of Our Friend Crippled Hand, this is a fantastic addition to Mo's. How about a box set?
Ecellent Mix!
Cool! Can't say I appreciated these acts in their prime, but with age a few have come to be real favorites of mine.
Exactly what James Jackson says. Truly brillant, Steve. I don't think I've ever seen even a below-par mix from you, my friend. superb from start to finish. "I stand in awe, and I shake my face" indeed, I do!
Yippeeeee! A new mix from Franklin Onn. It has been awhile. I'm out in Oakland, CA, been driving around in my bro's car listening to "Tamp'em Up Solid" ... wish I had this mix with me too!
Franklin, this is great!
It has been said before... simply wonderful mix.
In fact, the only part I don't like is...
Ha! Just kidding! It's all great.

Suh-weet!
Fantastic mix full of great picks.
When rock met country & went native, it all came together for a shimmering moment - then it all got lost in the ozone again. You've built a powerful time machine here.
Diggin that mix back here in Missouri, that is a beautiful thing.
