Blending elements of American funk and hip-hop with a Jamaican sensibility, funky reggae has an international appeal that, at times, surpasses the popularity of reggae and dancehall. For starters, check out Shaggy's "Luv Me, Luv Me," which samples the indie funk staple "Impeach the President."
