Comment:

The Cure song that starts off the tape is an ace b-side from the rare "Just Like Heaven" CD single.... The last song on side '1' is a cover of a great Hugo Largo song by Thom (Radiohead) Yorke's brother's band, but the heart of this mix comes near the end of side '2'... The song "The Very First Kid On My Block" was used on a segment of some episode of 'The Banana Splits Show,' which I used to watch after school 1,000 years ago... really catchy chorus; stuck way in the back of my brain for somethng like 18 years until a couple of months ago I came across a limited edition 'Songs from The Banana Splits' CD and recognized the song title... the rest of the songs on the disc are pretty difficult to sit through, but "Very First Kid" is as good as I remember it being as a kid: just the right balance of cheese and bubblegum. Life is good.
