Comment:
The idea was to make a mix you could fall asleep to (but not TOO easily) that would give you strange dreams, but not quite nightmares.... Rex was a critically lauded indie band that broke up before they could release a proper album... Adrian Esguerra is a great singer-songwriter currently residing in Seattle - a record deal ought to be forthcoming (if there's any justice in the world)... Gehelio Non-Centric were a Long Island-based band with a self-released album that's difficult to categorize - think Jeff Buckley fronting a pre-'Urban Hymns' Verve in slow burn mode and you're halfway there... The J Stroke w/ La Loba track is from an indie label Tribute album called 'Pixies F**kin' Die' - suffice to say, it sounds NOTHING like the original... The Moth Wranglers song is from a soon-to-be-released album called 'Nevermind the Context' - like most of the album, "Six Page Letter" is either "beautiful in a f**ked up way" or "f**ked up in a beautiful way" depending on your perspective... The Gothic Archies is a Stephin (Magnetic Fields) Merritt side project, and "The Dead Only Quickly" (from the rare-ish 'Looming In the Gloom' EP) is essentially the same song that appears on the 6ths album "Hyacinths & Thistles" only with Merritt himself on vocals.Feedback:
Nice job on the mix. I often listen to tunes on my headphones just prior to falling asleep...would you consider a future trade?
