Comment:

Of all the mixes I've made for Art Of The Mix I think I enjoyed this the most. All I wanted to do was criss-cross the decades and keep the energy level up. Nothing clever or conceptual just plain honest fare that I thought Annie and the children might enjoy! I chose tracks on the basis that she owns very little music but loves Sabbath's Paranoid, The Stones, Elvis,Bowie, Roxy and wanted to know who sung that track about having Somebody To Love. It ain't an Art Mix but it's choc a block with Art! The Title comes from the fact that Annie studied Fine Art at The Slade School Of Art and during breaks students would sit around saying Hendrix woz like Picasso!

Now THIS made me smile - I'm not surprised you enjoyed making it as there's a lot of great, upbeat stuff on here. Sometimes the best mixes have no agenda. Like especially the Blur and Echo and the Bunnymen. And I am such a sucker for the Pretenders.

This kind of mix sometimes get short shrift here. This is a fine example of a nice party mix, or just an upbeat driving mix. Bonus points for Gene Vincent :)

Nice job--lots of great picks. "Common People" is one of the funniest songs I've ever heard.

ah...when obscure indie kids embrace the perfect, obvious tracks....so clear most people see right through it...great fucking mix.
