Comment:

This is a mix for a theme challenge based around a comic book character. I chose Delirium of the Endless, from Sandman. I wanted to make a mix that was at once whimsical and deranged, beautiful and dark, reflecting her origins as Delight. You can read her condensed story here. Thanks to my friend g! for the Inflatable Boy Clams track, which gives me the creeps, and I feel I should plug the Molehill Orkestrah, a local band here in Tucson, that plays gorgeous, rowdy gypsy music to steal your heart. Check them out online if you can track down some mp3s!

Great looking mix!
Anything with the Cure, the Cranes, Cocteau Twins and Grant Lee Buffalo must be awesome!

This looks wonderful again - nice, nice opener with the Cocteau Twins and I love the Black Heart Procession and Bel Canto too - but above all I love the concept. Really nicely thought out and an interesting source of inspiration, without a doubt.

If there are any singers who embody Delirium as much as Tori Amos, Melora Creager, Annelli Drecker, Allison Shaw and Liz Frazer, I don't know of them. Well, maybe Kristin Hersh, but that's it. You captured the theme perfectly.

BTW, I especially love the Molehill Orkestrah and Giardini di Miro. Are Inflatable Boy Clams that group that's two kids and their dad? I've heard them on Princeton a few times (if it's them) and they are rather amusing, though probably not in large doses.
