Comment:

My own political rant. I was planning this for a while & then I saw "KILL FOR PEACE" (double CD) by Franklin Onn12, so that eliminated a some songs I was planning, but it got me to dig a bit deeper; there are a couple repeats from Franklin's, but different versions in most cases. Some songs are pointedly anti-war, others are pointedly anti-Bush (Common Man & Ain't Done Nothin'), others are social justice songs. The Patti Smith was from an amazing concert in Chicago (I wanted to put in her reciting the preample to the Declaration of Independence from the same show, but it went on into Rock'nRoll Nigger/Gloria for 12 minutes -- amazing, but a bit long for this mix). The Specials song has a spoken intro about voting in the election (although in that case it was anti-Thacher).

You get lots of points for avoiding Black Sabbath's "War Pigs". Good for you for reaching beyond the obvious.

Primal Scream's "Bomb The Pentagon" would probably be a little extreme for this mix but it could definently stand a little Husker Du "in a free land" action. good mix anyways.

It's nice to see that someone uses the words and lyrics of obviously crappy bands in order make a soapbox for themselves. Rant away, ut understand that no one cares.

You CANNOT call Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Patti Smith, The Who, etc. "CRAPPY!"
At least someone cares about politics and is willing to channel some creativity into expressing themselves. I like this mix.

Essential listening documenting the fall of the illegitimate Dubya administration as it crumbles under its own hubris, greed, and incompetence. Stellar selections! Great cover too.

Politically, I guess that it is a shame this type of mix is required. Musically, it is excellent. Love Patti Smith.

It's election night and I'm getting a headache... was back cataloging through AOTM and ran across this. I like it, though I would've dropped the Who since Dubya confused it with another saying...God I can't live with four more tears...

Oh this is just fantastic - of course, the week after the horrible horrible inauguration, it's a bit disheartening to see what starry-eyed optimists we all were. I love that Tonio K. song thouth - think it's time to give it a listen.

This looks like a really good mix--I like what I recognize, although a lot of it is unfamiliar. The cover is very nice, too. I saw you commented on one of my other mixes; I also did a protest mix, "trouble every day."
