Comment:
Phonography, loathed Greek synthesists, synchronous playback, one album wonders, tango, quiet loud & loud quiet....Hey! Wait a minute....Like a late night broadcast issuing from an old radio that is unplugged from the mains, the dull glow of the dial lights the room and all the world is transmitting at once. It swirls around the room, continuous, evolving...
Competition Time:A free copy goes to the first person who can tell me the connection between tracks 6 & 7 ?

Feedback:
Beautiful Gary. On the pile please. (Sarangi)
Smarty pants! On the pile it is.
Mmmm! This looks like the deal here Muzag. Makoto! (Sarangi.....)
Mmmmm, love those Hallicrafters.
Splendiferous, Mr. Smith (and dang...I was gonna say "Sarangi"). Oh well; lots of great stuff here...(careful that Eno fella' isn't snooping around--he's a "borrower").
You're really churnin' 'em out these days!

another swell looking beautiful classic
I don't think Burroughs will come back from Tangiers, and if this is what he had to listen to while there, I wouldn't blame him. Not sinister at all, but marvelous instead.
Wow. This looks fabulous, Gary - and I don't even know what "Sarangi" means . . . ;) Thohg I gotta admit that he inclusion of a Christmas song by JSB leaves me kind of baffled. If I do have anything like a pile, please don't hesitate to put it on the same.
This looks really beautiful...ahhh, doppel Bach.
That know-it-all Curtis, pah! The answer is indeed
sarangi, the Indian violin with 30-odd resonator strings in it's body. But I think Leonard should get a prize for recognising the
radio dial, in this case a Hallicrafter SX28A. (Which I only know because that's what it said on the website I lifted it from.)
Thomas, I actually had no idea it was a Christmas song (these versions are instrumental). I was attracted more by the sound and by the title of the other piece. "Herr Gott, nun schleuss den Himmel auf" which, in my 'failed my German exam twice' translation comes out as "Mr God, open up your heaven" (as in, "That's Mr God to you, sonny").

Wow. I still hadn't gotten over my astonishment in listening to #15 yesterday, then I popped this volume in this morning. How do you do it, Gary? I must know! Words do not describe the attention to detail and subtle rumblings that seamlessly drift from this disc. I particularly like the "travelling the world" aspect of this one - fantastic.
