Comment:

I was only able to compile all of these songs with help from several people, one of whom (Neill) posted an earlier cover of the White Album called "The White Owl Barn". I tried not to use too many of the songs from that post. In my opinion, there are some amazing songs here. Baba Yaga's Back in the USSR is just great. Graham Central Station, Badi Assad, Sarah McLachlan, the King's Singers, The Bobs, and Kenny Neal, Lucky Peterson, & Tab Benoit all do great interpretations of the songs that make you hear them in a new light. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, considered by some to be one of the worst pop songs of all time, is wonderfully covered by Celia Cruz in a way that makes it much better than the original.

Great Idea- I will check out the other mix you mentioned.

How many albums (especially doubles!) could you do the same for??

"off-white"...good one! And I applaud the accomplishment that, aside from Sarah McLachlan, none of these are obvious or really familiar covers. Not that it isn't still fun, but too many mixes of this kind tend to include the same dozen or so famous covers. Very creative here, lots for Beatles fans to explore

Fantastic. Extra nice for avoiding most of the obvious choices.

Maybe your best yet! I like to imagine putting one of these Beatle or Dylan recreations in the background for an unprepared listener & see how long it takes for them to snap to attention. Not long, I bet.
