Comment:
Of course I don't really think France is stinking and lousy. I have been there many times and have always found it delightful (especially Nice). The title and pictures come from a website specializing in anti-French cartoons. Really I made this mix to celebtrate my acquisition of Jacques Brel's "Jacky". I have loved Scott Walker's version ("Jackie") for so many years, and its great to finally have the original.
Feedback:
oui oui! love what you've done here
c'est si bon! j'ai envie d'ecouter!
Magnifique!
Should have had more comments...Gall, Gainsbourg, Dutronc, Brel (a Belgian interloper), Baker..ou est Francoise Hardy? :)excellent stuff!
Yes, this mix did deserve more comments. It's been a constant companion in my Renault --- I mean Toyota. Love the variety of styles and eras represented here. I suggest you do what you can to get a copy.
Okay, I'm interested in this. Or actually, I'm more interested in any 60s Francois Hardy that you may have...
Ewwww. josephine baker is totally the latoya jackson of the jazz-age parisian expatriate community.
