REAGAN IS DEADFeedback:
RIP
You're fast, and yet this looks like a lot of thought went into it. Bad presidents always bring about the best music!
fucking brilliant. absolutely. i say mix of the week.
Lots of DC bands, good choices. Great last track.
Reagan was always dead. Excellent mix.
Who's Reagan?
nah it didn't take long or much thought to make this. these sort of mixes just kinda make themselves.
I'm SO SO SO SO glad to see this. As for Dom's question: Reagan was the worst US president before the current one.
Now, Sean, let us not forget Nixon, who certainly must be considered as a presidential failure. Still, Ronnie Ray-Gun is right up there....Oh, and lots of good stuff on this mix, too!
Excellent - like jab I say MOTW!!
At first I thought this was going to be a mix of songs about Reagan - because there were definitely enough of them (especially in the California punk scene). You've got so many of my favorite bands from my college years here - haven't listened to the Meatmen in ages!
Nice, I'd add "Bonzo goes to Bitteberg," the Ramones song about Ronnie going to visit the SS cemetary 20 years ago today during the D-Day commerations.
right on. the sad era of presidential abuse and lies and hegemony and media government we live in now was perfected right around 1984 by a Hollywood actor -- funny how that 1984 thing works...
Don't actually know all of this but I can tell it's a great job... like the Kennedys and Sonic Youth choices.
"Old Mother Reagan" by the Violent Femmes might have also been a good addition.
Excellent Mix _ well those that I know!
Not that you were asking for suggestions but I would have included "Talking Ronald Reagan Blues" by Loudon Wainwright III and Gil Scott Heron's "B Movie" and/Or "Ray Gun" (or even "Mandate my Ass")... Oh and what antihero said about the last track.
Good job!

Good job!
Wonderful! I have to agree with Sean and James. But IMHO, Bush jr. is a worse president than Nixon and Reagan combined. Yikes! (P.S. The Austin Lounge Lizards have a great song called "The Ballad of Ronald Reagan". A line from the song speaking of Iran-Contra, "He's stupid if he didn't know, dishonest if he did.")
Ditto Franklin Onn12 - Nixon & Reagan were rank amatuers compared to the axis of evil we've got running this country today.
Great stuff. Though slightly different genre, I'd add "The President" by Robyn Hitchcock, one of two fantastic songs coming out of Reagan's ill-considered visit to Bitburg cemetery (alongside the Ramones track noted below).
Damn, you beat me to it with this mix. I would have liked to have seen Suicidal Tendencies "I Shot the Devil" rather than "Institutionalized" though, still good job.
Let's hope they play this at the funeral!
Excellent. I would also suggest "Superficial Love" by TSOL which finishes with the line "President Reagan can shove it!". Also, punk can't exist without the Reagan administration.
great stuff, all of it.
come on guys everyone knows that the worst president this country ever had was William Henry Harrison who served only 32 days. Harrison, the oldest man at age sixty-eight (before Ronald Reagan) to be inaugurated President, died after serving only one month in office. He had become ill after delivering his inaugural address outdoors in the cold March weather without a hat or a coat and died of a respiratory infection, probably pneumonia. He was the first President to die in office. dumb ass.
