Comment:

So here's one for my dad. Tha man raised me on country music, and somehow I turned out just fine (perhaps even better so because of it). Dad recentlly requested I make a country mix for him, and even though I'm very much out of the country loop I did my best on this one 'cause he's done an awful lot for me lately. So pull on your boots and straighten the brim on your hat, here's a trip into country music...which begs the question, it's music from exactly WHICH country?? Cheers! -Famous.

Love the picture! The most I can say about this mix is; my mother went through a huge country music phase and I've heard of every name on here, yet I don't know the songs. I really like Dwight Yokam as an actor! His performance in 'Slingblade' was highly underrated! He was also fun in 'The Minus Man' as a figment of Owen Wilsons imagination. Take care, bud!

i've heard about that Redneck woman song..I'm tempted to find it so I can get a giggle.

My biggest foray into Country was It's 5 o'clock Somewhere!

Nice mix here... I like to listen to some different music every once in a while. The reason I put all these bad song on that mix because I wanted to do something different than alot of people do. Most people make mixes on summer or spring or etc and I just wanted to make something different. Also my friends and I always have a little bit of fun when we get to make fun of bad songs.

I find it hard to appreciate country like this, but I know there are lots of people who can! I've just been getting into a different kind of country recently. I was raised on folk, and at 22 I find myself immersed in a newer generation of it. :) I'm sure your dad will appreciate it. cheers.

How excellent of you to put together a real country mix! (Most of what is labeled country on this site turns out to be actually alt-country or country rock, which is fine, but is not the country that a real country music fan would listen to.) "Independence Day" is one of my favorite songs of any genre - it is such a well-constructed story.
