Comment:
One of the few hypothetical mixes that actually made it to tape, mainly due to the fact that the car I currently drive only has a tape deck (but then I like it that way). Fairly indicative of my musical tastes though it shockingly only contains one song recorded outside the last decade and no tracks from either The Lucksmiths or Something For Kate! (I shall rectify these grotesque oversights in future mixes) As for the title, it (obviously) comes from the lead track by Mogwai. I've always thought it would be a great song to start a mix tape and the title really sums up the effect this collection of songs - they take me away to a nice place. A mix I often listen to whilst driving down foggy backstreets with no street lights beside artificial lakes on freezing winter nights. really.
Feedback:
bunch of tracks on here i like. and a bunch i don't. and a short essay to read after the playlist. all in all, fuck off - good mix.
Uh, lax seems kind of pissy. But this is a *very* nice mix (and I am a huge Mogwai fan, so it's very nice to see Take Me... as an opening track!) Like the Grandaddy pick too, and of course the Bjork.
very nice.. especially side a. good work.
Tapes like this make me mix my car and its sweet, sweet tape deck.
