Comment:

There are some unusual selections on the latest volume in this already idiosyncratic series, I'll admit, but I think they all work (and belong). Thanks to buglady for the delicious "Goober Peas"!

Beautiful - been listening to a lot of folk lately, so this is right up my street at the moment. The Farina track is great, and I love 13-18.

I love this one! Maybe a little more eclectic than the others, but I'm all for that. Nice to see Tommy and Dickie made the cut; I used to have all their albums. And their TV show was the right tonic for the times...... (Share a little tea with Goldie! Pat Paulsen for President!) I say, put 'em back on prime-time!

Love the look of this . . . I don't know every artist but these guys have some fantastic names. Particularly like the Ry Cooder & Taj Mahal pick.

This series just keeps getting richer & deeper . . . digging the roots.
I don't think my music history was talking about Burl when he said that Ives was a great American original, but he should have been.

Outstanding! I just picked up the excellent Ollabelle CD, and that was one of the standout tracks. The Smothers Brothers choice is an interesting one (though I always thought it was funny). Particularly love the Mance Lipscomb, Mississippi John Hurt, Leadbelly, Hooker, & the Delta Rhythm Boys. This is quite good.
