Comment:

Though creative and quirky, I find Elf Power to be among my least favorite of the Elephant 6-related bands, perhaps alongside the comparable Of Montreal. Still, at least a few songs per album are pretty compelling, and they do a hell of a cover (including, on this mix, covers of tunes by the Buzzcocks, T. Rex, Husker Du, Robyn Hitchcock, Brian Eno, and the Misfits). Yum.

Yeah, they've got good taste in covers, but I've always thought that they were kind of boring.

I've listened to a few Elephant 6 related bands but haven't heard these guys yet.

You know, I agree...entire albums don't quite do it for me, but once in a while they really hit it just right. Maybe you should add this to my pile and pick another of mine!

Nice! Looks like they've tackled some interesting songs to cover. I like that in a band. This is something I wouldn't mind hearing one of these days.

I'm afraid I've never heard of them or Elephant but I like some of the titles!

A band that did nothing for me - and mean in musical terms - I expect to very few bands to PHYSICALLY do something for me (Elf Power, would you please help me move on Saturday?) I too have made a few best-ofs for bands that I don't play much anymore in hopes that a solid best-of will recharge their catalog for me. And I was unaware of Elf Power's stellar choices in covers.
