It's been a while, but here's another volume of incredibly strange German-language cover versions of 60s, 70s & 80s chart hits for your listening pleasure. All of this has been ripped from swap-meet vinyl, with the exception of track 21 which was downloaded from April Winchell's website (and, most unfortunately, is of slightly inferior sound quality). I am deeply indebted to my friend, Fritz Schneider, who has been roaming flea markets for this kinda stuff, just for the sake of this miserable CD series. Enjoy!

This looks great. Nice work. Is "Stand By Your Man" that popular in Europe? (I recently came across a French cover of it by Jeane Manson, where it became "C'est toi que j'aime."

Looks like another Mohr mix, which is always a good thing. Who else could track down German language version of Mother & Child Reunion! I wouldn't sacrifice any human limb to hear this, but if you'd add it to de pile, I'll shave my eyebrows.

Undoubtedly one of the more bizarre mixes I have seen posted here. I'll bet "Another Brick In The Wall" sounds as if it were made to be sung in German. Excellent.

So far I've heard three of the volumes in this series, and every one of them has stunned & amazed me - the things people will cover,
and how!
Do let me know if there's anything I can trade you for this (& if possible for a few more of the incredibly strange series, I hope to live to hear them all . . )

And I thought this genre began and ended with Heino. 9 volumes into this series shows me that I know a fat lot of nothing about German pop music. These mixes look brilliant and disturbing.

The answer is: YES it's as funny as I'd imagined.
It's Not Unusual & Louie Louie are by far and away my fave tracks on this mix. And you know, if you don't like a song in English, you probably won't like it auf Deutsch; as is the case with Hotel California, a truly crap song imho.
