Comment:

This contains all of my favourite Smiths songs lyrically. There is a slight theme/concept throughout the mix, which is sort of described in the title that came from...well, you should know that one. I intentionally sequenced the songs so they gradually slow down and get more depressing. Both live tracks came from Rank and the BBC songs came from Hatful Of Hollow. I've been listening to it lately during my walks to work, and will probably continue using it whenever else I decide to stroll alone. I'd like to hear any suggestions to songs that should be added/removed or any comments in general.

UPDATE JUNE 22, 2004: I've added What Difference Does It Make? (BBC version) and I Won't Share You (due to popular suggestion below), both possible by switching to a slightly longer disc. Thanks to everyone who did comment, and made suggestions. Please keep them coming if you have any.

beautiful - although i don't think a smiths mix could ever be bad.

Thanks for the comments. I intended on including "I Won't Share You", but scrapped it at the last minute due to lack of space. I may make an adjustment though since it fits right in there nicely. I do love the music for these songs as well, but focused moreso on lyrics because I wanted to follow the theme..as loose as it seems.

i'd second i'd like to see william it was really nothing on the mix. it's really hard to decide what to leave out with a smiths mix. glad to see the tracks from hatful of hollow. that was the first smiths album i ever got, and i prefer a lot of the versions on there to their regular album versions.

I like these choices. Looks like a bit of a storyline running through - concept mix? :) I agree with the other posters that Smiths mixes are difficult, but this is one of the best I've seen.

Ahhh, The Smiths at their wonderfully morose best! :) Interesting choices and well-thought out mix - lyrically, I'm also a big fan of a lot of these songs, and it's nice to see These Things Take Time (perhaps my favourite lyrics...well, that or Still Ill.) Personally I'm not sure if William... would really fit; definitely I Won't Share You though, if you can get it in there. Jeane may work well too (?) As for the slew of Smiths mixes - it's lovely to see from my point of view - Smiths mixers of the world unite and take over. (sorry)
