Comment:

A second mix of first songs from first albums. As before I focused on U.S. releases of albums only and not singles, EPs. etc and some of these songs appear on other mixes.

That is one messed up cover photo, George. As with Vol. 1, it's interesting to see the bands who really open their first albums with a powerful "declaration of purpose" -- I'd pick Zep, NY Dolls, Stone Rose, Blondie, and Floyd in particular here for accomplishing that. (In contrast to, say, The Who, who led with something that was already atypical of their sound by the time the album came out.)

This is excellent! Whenever I listen to The Stone Roses' debut, I'm always slightly disappointed that I Wanna Be Adored is first, as it's by far my favourite song of anything they've done, so the rest is a slight anti-climax - but, as you point out, what a wonderful first impression! Liking this whole series.

Very nice stuff here, George. I was a BIG fan of that Bodeans album when I was in high school. Haven't listened to it in years, but it meant a lot to me at the time.
