Can't go wrong with R.E.M., but why only one song from the early IRS days, in my opinion far better than anything from the last few albums?

Interesting choices. I generally like 90s R.E.M. more (probably because I'm more familiar with it), and I made an R.E.M. mix deliberately using only the Warner years. It's interesting to see that people tend to pick very different tracks from 90s R.E.M. when making a mix like this... they've got something for everyone!

I agree that it is really interesting to see what REM songs people pick. I tend to like the earlier stuff. I would have to put Camera,Superman, and Don't go Back to Rockville on any REM mix I would make.It looks like the order of this mix would sound really great though, and my favorites would actually not fit very well. I think putting Everybody Hurts last is a good move. It's too powerful to really put anywhere else. Where would you go from there?

yep - good picks here, though i too am much more partial to the IRS-era REM. i suspect that's probably b/c i remember vividly hearing the 'radio free europe' single on a faint college radio station. then 'chronic town' and i was totally hooked.
