Comment:

31) Hard Luck 32) Boys Will Be Boys 33) Tearproof 34) Wednesday Week 35) What's with Terry? Although this is barely a mix (I actually thought I'd fit both of their first two records and all attendant b-sides on one disc), these are my favorite songs by one of my favorite first-wave bands. Great summer fare, even if there is an (*ahem*) undertone of sadness about the band.

Brilliant! I was hoping an Undertones mix would come along at some point. I agree that they have that hint of sadness (location location location?) - for some reason, something about the video for Teenage Kicks has that quality, at least from my point of view. But anyway, yep, great band.

Not very mixed, but what could be better than pure unadulterated Undertones?
But, just to be contrarian, I have to say: a great band!

Those first two albums were wonderful; too bad their later albums were such a let-down, as was the subsequent Feargal Sharkey work (though I remember a couple decent tunes from spin-off That Petrol Emotion). My old college band used to do "I Know A Girl" (one of the few songs you seem to have cut), and ripping on that simple riff was a blast.

Plenty of gems to be heard on this one Rob. I once lost a bar's music trivia contest by one stinkin' point when I thought that John Peel's all time favorite single was Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" -- when the correct answer was "Teenage Kicks." D'oh!!

The Undertones are gods to me just for those first two albums - which meant the world to me in highschool and college and still get frequent plays in my household now. I love those first two albums so much I hardly ever go to the other two - when I think of the Undertones I think of punchy riffs and a manic pop energy. I used to play "Boys Will Boys" over and over again because it was too damn short for my tastes.

My heart skipped a beat when I didn't see Wednesday Week - until I actually opened my eyes and read your comments. Phew!! One of my all-time favourite bands - nicely done.

The Undertones are one of my all-time faves, too. You have done them justice here, Rob.
