Comment:
Not my favorite band of all-time, but they really did have their moments. Enough so that I decided to make a volume II.... Thanks to my former roommate Blayne for letting me utilize his Cure collection through Disintegration.Feedback:
Ooh, nice. I adore the Cure. A nice selection here, I say.
Yep ... some great choices here ...
Nice. While I have a pretty large collection (excluding the bland redundant crap they've been issuing by rote over the past few years), but can't say I've spent more than an hour or two listening to them over the past decade. The pop songs still sound great interspersed over a mix, and a few of the early quiet tracks work well at nighttime, but their albums really haven't aged well for me.
Nice stuff! I do like a bit of the Cure myself - I have never been able to get into them as much as "the other best band from the 80s" ;) and I have to admit that I haven't heard their new one, and am a little scared to...but still, as you say, they had some top-notch moments. Anyway, all that aside, excellent opening, and 12 - close looks especially wonderful and does remind you of the fact that excellent, simple "pop" was (and still is?) really their forte.
Pretty good mix , hate the new Cd though - I cannot even get through the whole thing which makes me sad... Thats what happens I guess when you get a guy who produces Korn and Slipknot to produce a Cure cd! Bleh! Nice GH mix though
I love most of THE CURE and I love most of this!
For many years I couldn't really get behind the Cure outside of "Grinding Halt" (not included here?!?) and "Jumping Someone Else's Train", but in the past five or six years I'm rediscovering how much good stuff they actually have out. There's a lot of mediocre fluff in their catalog, but when they hit it's with a pretty solid (and tuneful) punch.
I certainly don't condone his lifestyle but Morrissey is one of the greatest guitar player ever. kudos to you for ferretting out some of his rarest tracks!
I'm lamenting the omission of "A Forest" and "Disintegration."
