Comment:
This tape Is my attempt to show people who don't like country the connections between Country, Folk, Punk rock, and rock and roll in general. We live in a strange world where johnny cash will cover beck and sound garden, a world where bands that have always been punk.. like social d, have always been country at heart. This tape is a big middle finger to all those people that claim to be eclectic and say they listen to anything but rap and country. Country is good, and even rap has its connections... "i wonder if gangsta rappers realize just how little separates their songs of urban thug life from Johnny Cash's songs of Backwoods thug life" -quentin TerrintinoThis tape is also the finger to all the country music out there (which is most all of it today) that has gone the way of valueless pop crap.
Note: i leave my B sides blank so that the recipients of my tapes can send me thier answers or thoughts in the form of a mix tape.
Feedback:
Good mix, I see you that you can see beyond the walls of MARKETING designed genres and see the parallel. I will gladly send you a mix of music new and old that holds the spirit, anger and message of what country music or other genres is about.
I am going to steal your idea. Congratulations.
I'm glad that this had nothing to do with Hot Country Nights or spandex. A good mix that doesn't merely stick to the confines of country.
Damn! Yum!
