Comment:

Two years later (made on 3/25/88), the hormones had definitely kicked in (see 2 Live Crew on side 1), but in one of the stranger mixes in history, that song is followed by Yaz. My friend Scott was supposed to go with me and Pete to S.D., but wrecked his car a week before or something and got grounded from going. Too bad, since he contributed the Men w/o Hats, Elton John & Silencers tracks. And, in a nod to the previous S.D. trip, I Melt With You makes an appearance.

This trip is memorable, if for nothing else, for the fact that I first heard the Replacements' "Alex Chilton" on this trip. While I had heard the Stink EP previously courtesy of Pete, "Alex Chilton" blew me away ("I'm in love") and sparked an oddessy of radio listening so that I could find out who that band was("what's that song"), and when I did, went immediately to the nearest record store and bought the tape. Love at first listen, and every listen since then.
