"...speech is not dirty silenceClarified. It is silence made still dirtier."-- Wallace Stevens, The Creations of SoundFeedback:
Interesting collection here!
No dirtiness (or silence) detected here. ;) Looks fab, as usual. Isn't that Miles Davis piece the one Quine quotes as being his msuical reveltaion, as it were? Hmm. I might need to have this sooner or later . . .
My interest is immediately grabbed anytime I see Pearls Before Swine turn up on a mix. The fact that you preceed the cut with Amon Duul II then Petula Clark...well, this looks incredible.
Brilliant, Curtis. (as usual) :-)
Beautiful stuff, as ever! I love the Fennesz and, like James, my interest was definitely grabbed by Pearls Before Swine.
Hmmm...the weekend edition...@ last - looks ineressin' Curtis. I've only heard the Bowie cover of that Verlaine tune.
Great title, great mix.
Agreeing w/Gene over here...this looks great.
Ditto James and erik.
Oooh. As one who owns the Verlaine on vinyl (and played the ___ out of it when I bought it) great opener! It has to be great the rest of the way....um, I may be filling this space up with dirtier.
Yup...I only know Pet & Miles trax but I do love the titles!
looks compelling...also nice to see asha vida on a mix after all of the crap mixes that i just finished browsing..
One never ceases to wonder about the wonders that are Curtis Burns mixes.
Whoa. How did I not see this back in the day? Great use of that Miles track, and great Pearls Before Swine, Verlaine, and Amon Duul choices. That Duul-to-Petula transition must be something to hear. :-)
