Comment:
3rd mix of first songs from first albums. Lots more 60s stuff this time around and some early 70s. Nick Drake on the cover.
Feedback:
This one's great!
Oh, man, I love this series!!! That John Prine album is, perhaps, one of the best debut albums I have ever heard, and there's so much more to recommend here, too! I absolutely love the tracks by...well, hell! I love 'em all! Great job!
Best one yet!
Great.
another good looking addition/edition.
Some of my all-time favorites: Little Red Book, I Only Want to Be With You, Christine's Tune, For What It's Worth ... I think I am dating myself here... killer!
Another great addition to the series. Maybe you could do a series of last tracks on bands' final albums called Last Impressions if this gets old.
Quality stuff George!
Love the John Prine. And The Meters, too. Neato mix, great concept.
Beautiful!
More classic first editions. It's hard to believe some of these are first outings, they're so completely defintive of their performers. These musicians were born fully formed?!?
Great addition to the series, George. Lots of faves here and more than a few that I didn't realise were 'First Ones'.
What Joey said ... excellent series.
To echo many of the other comments, I absolutely love this series and, as joeydevivre says, it's really hard to believe that so many of these were "first impressions" - The Zombies particularly. Love the Jeff Beck and Mamas and the Papas too.
Great job - I especially like 1 thru 5 sequence - that just rolls, baby!
What a wonderful group of songs! I remember hearing a bunch of these for the first time and being blown away. The chiming opening notes of Mr. Tambourine Man for instance. Fully formed, indeed!
Good stuff George, a thoroughly great series that would be worthy of an official release!
