Comment:

I realize Phish isn't widely accepted among the hipper elements of the AOTM crew, and even their most serious fans are fairly dismissive of much of their studio work. Still, while many of their albums do wallow in mediocrity, there are a few catchy pop moments on most of their studio albums, and a few hints of their experimental side that flourishes in their live shows. I'm sad to see them calling it a day; I think they still had a few years left before they'd become a tired Dead-styled nostalgia act, but I respect them for wanting to avoid beating a good thing into the ground.

Yeah, never let it be said a jam band beat a good thing into the ground. Oof!

I actually prefer the albums to the live shows a lot of times. There's a lot of good stuff on the albums that do make great rock songs (without lengthy jams).

I loved Billy Breathes (my only one of theirs) - sometime I'd like to trade for this (unless, due to limited resources on my part, there's a live set you'd recommend instead).
