I just used "The other side of Summer" on a wierd summer mix. Amongst many, many other reasons I love him for writing and performing one of the angriest songs I know "Tramp the Dirt Down"

Pretty hard to get him down to a single disc (I needed 2), and this is a pretty thorough look at his amazing career. Personally, I think he lost his spark after the great Get Happy & Trust, with most recent albums including one or two decent songs and a lot of filler. I can respect the guy for wanting to be a serious songwriter and crooner rather than go on writing pithy 2-minute furious pop/punk/rock ditties... but man, did he write a lot of great 2-minute rockers back in the day.

It seems your 20 reasons is entirely different than my 20 reasons will be. Still, this is an excellent compilation. Which only shows how many great songs EC wrote and recorded. Good stuff!

Have you ever heard the album he wrote for Wendy James? It's brilliant.

"Accidents Will Happen" is a get out of bed song for me...love that entire album. Not surprisingly since it was the first EC disc I listened to. A lot of these are new to me since I'm still just getting into Elvis- a travesty I know. But credit where credit is due, I began listening to him thanks to the influence of my younger bro...and you! Great collection, Elvis would be proud. Cheers! -Famous.
