very nice mix, an ode to the working man
Nice work, if you can get it!
heh, i'm digging the theme of this, and looks like it was carried out splendidly. one song that would've fit on this excellently is american analog set's "the postman".
Would Betty Wright's "Clean Up Woman" have qualified, too? Guess it's not really an occupation, eh?
Good job! If this mix had been the career counselor at my high school I bet I would have ended up as the Garbage Man -- (definitely not the Paperback Writer). I'd like to hear what Meryn Cadell has to say about being a flight attendant . . .
Very nice. Lots of great picks. Especially like the waterboys, xtc, & the beatles picks.
Great idea and it makes a fine mix...
Oh - and although you didn't ask...there are a couple of James Taylor songs that might fit "Brother Trucker" and "Handyman"

Oh...I'm a lumberjack and I'm ok...
Great theme and wonderfully eclectic mix of artists!
Thanks valis...
How dopey am I? Well, I'll tell you: this whole mix got started in my mind because of The Lumberjack Song, which I promply forget to put on the original mix! SPAZ! I have rectified this omission.

What!? No Men at Work? ;) But seriously, you did a great JOB on this ode to the working class. You deserve a bonus.
aka "I was young and I needed the money." Nice stuff. Hope it works (urgh!) as well as it looks.
Wow, this is excellent stuff from start to finish - kudos on The Family Gardener; I love that song. I also like the 23 - 27 stretch...ahhh, The Model, class. But is it in English or Deutsch? (I guess if it were German, it would be Das Model.) Getting sidetracked now so, nice mix!
Looks like quite the piece of work... Love the Beatles through Jane Siberry bit especially and the Pythons -> Tennessee Ernie Ford 'course.
can't believe I missed this earlier. Mucho apple logies to you, Cruella. Great stuff here. XTC, Harry B, Byrds, Monty P, Steppenwolf, Scotlands's own Stealer's wheel. Chock full o' classix
