Comment:

I had my car stereo blaring while waiting for the traffic to thin out after Friday night's Yankee game. A woman, in her sixties at least, waiting to get onto the ferry started screaming "Can you please turn that down! It's not even music! What is that?" I was a high school teenager again. I turned it up.A mix for sixty year old women with inquisitve ears. Track numbers are mere gestures.

The real question is this: what exactly were you listening to when the woman screamed at you?Oh, and what I know, I like -- bunches!

Many years ago I bought a Cecil Taylor CD at a record store while on the road with my boss and he told me that there was a very strict company policy against playing ANY "headache jazz" in his presence. It never made me want to play a CD in the car more.Intriguing mix as always.

Hilarious and pure Burnsian artistry! (We'd expect nothing else as a response to said woman-VOLUME!)

Brilliant Joe Morris pick. Yeah, what is it about others distaste for things making them more appealing?

I want one. :-) (This mix, not a sixty-year-old woman, that is.)

good stuff, Curtis. Did you turn it up to eleven? Woops! Someone already said that. I think you should have added injury to insult and ran her over.

Tsk, tsk...Curtis, you are such a bad boy...semi-familiar with about 1/5 o' this...then again, "it's not even music", so I don't feel so bad, : )
