Comment:

For Marie H/Siobhan. No obscurities, really, but a fine-flowing, enjoyable mix, nonetheless (if I'm allowed to say so). Title from the Femmes closer. Note: I revised this on 8/2/04, eliminating a Barry White track and adding songs by Graham Coxon and the Minutemen.

Barry White, Mink DeVille & Willie Nelson together. Awesome. Kings of Leon kinda grew on me.

Is it just me, or is that new Wilco album a huge disappointment? Though that's one of the few songs that DOESN'T sound like a rip-off of (already lame) Paul Westerberg solo tracks. And ditto p's observation -- The Final Cut is not exactly the sort of album that one sees contributing to a whole lotta mix tapes, so it's nice to see a rare nod to it.

Rob, this looks wonderful - I would absolutely love it! In a lot of respects you've very much nailed my taste in music (Sondre Lerche and Underworld on the same mix!)...and, due to my dad's influence, I do actually like Pink Floyd :) Furthermore, to be honest I haven't heard much of the new Wilco either, so I'm intrigued by that. Overall, looks great and yours will be up soon!

Some pretty cool stuff. Especially the Radio Birdman, Rufus -> Wilco, Thunders -> Hnsker Dn and Bobbie Gentry (which has, uhm, been in and out of my head lately).

Any mix that starts with Radio Birdman and ends with the Femmes is ultra-cool in my books. Nice.

I'm not the world's biggest Kings of Leon fan, either, Sean. I just received that CD as a (much-)belated Xmas gift and it certainly doesn't live up to its hype. That said, however, there are a few songs that stand out and "Happy Alone", to me, was foremost in the bunch. And as far as the Wilco album goes, it was initially a huge disappointment to me but it has since grown on me. Its best songs are great, I think, but the others definitely sound like bad Westerberg.
