this mix got started because i couldn't find my ramones anthology that rhino put out a few years back and once i realized i wasn't going to retrieve it, i figured i ought to just throw together a two-tape set that played as a career retrospective. this first tape (37 songs) covers the majority of the "golden era" ramones--i know, i know, "end of the century" is supposed to signal the end of the band's best work, but i don't agree. in fact, i think some of my favorite ramones songs came later.
