Comment:

Reggae, Ska, Dub etc and it's gradual assimilation into The UK Music Scene. Reggae is one genre I know very little about (French Connection & p the swede seem to be our resident experts, so apologies to them for mussing outside my usual) .. but fortunately my music store has been selling off The Trojan Box sets at a discounted price. I've collected 15 of these box sets each containing 50 tracks a piece and covering the whole spectrum of Reggae from R'n'B to Nyahbinghi...it's a fun education.

the little willie and L. Perry tracks are essential. The redundancy of those 3 disc boxes gets a bit annoying, but for the cost of one cd, it's tough to beat.

I like it a lot, but what is that Lee Scratch Perry track from 1972? I thought I was a fan!

I've been picking up one of those torjan box sets every few weeks - killer stuff for less than twenty bucks. This mix looks great - really nice mix of bands that melded reggae into their sound (which is ultimitely what I prefer over a whole album of straight reggae). It took my love of the new wave ska bands to get me to look into some of the original ska kings which led me to enjoy reggae. Dale / ThisIsPop!

Sorry I'm a bit late in commenting on this, but looks great as ever Dom - not a genre I've ever given a lot of time to, but I think I'll definitely have to start doing so after seeing your recommendations. I've been looking at the Trojan box sets recently and have been intrigued, so maybe I'll be making a purchase or two!
