became a fan of slobberbone after seeing them open a show for the old 97's in toronto. became a fan of the old 97's after picking up 'too far to care' in a k-mart in laredo, based mostly on the cover art and song titles. i never did get a chance to see them in concert during my 3 years in texas - the closest was a houston summer fair that i attended where they played after i left and i only heard about the day after.
of course, i just checked their website and it turns out that i will be in toronto the same day that they play in september, so i'll have to see about re-arranging my travel schedule to take that in.
