Comment:
With an excellent roster, wacky promotional ideas, hilarious logos and a maybe just bit of lucky timing; Stiff Records was my favorite label of their era. Having recently learned that today is the twenty eighth anniversary of the release of Nick Lowe's "So It Goes", the label's first single, I finally got around to a compilation I'd been meaning to do ever since picking up the box-set. Reviewing the discography revealed way more misses to hits than I recalled, especially during the last five years of the label's existence. Nevertheless, with a coupla dozen classics to their name I'd still say Stiff Records was more than worth a fuck.
Feedback:
Wouah !!
"Fuck art...let's dance!" indeed. Excellent Jim.
Brilliant! I absolutely love your cover, and of course the mix itself is wonderful - ending with the Pogues is great, and love the Feelies pick too.
excellent label excellent work
Nick bought you a drink, eh?
Awesome mix. I love the Elvis Costello, Devo, Madness, and Pogues tracks.
Try to be! Where's Rachel Sweet? Great stuff.
last time i dipped into the stiff box i was struck by how listenable it all seemed. i never associated motorhead or pigbag with stiff. where's yachts, mickey jupp and kirsty maccoll? and you can never have too much wreckless eric for my taste.
Ha Ha Ha! This is fun fun fun! Thanks for picking the hits, and hitting the missus...
classix one and all. Was going to say too many good ones to pick favs, but love that Tenpole Tudor and The damned especially, but the whole thing is top-notch
Great label full of great music. Classic stuff. I really loved that Dirty Looks album at the time.
If it aint Stiff ...
Mick Farren and the Deviants eh?? an example of why journalists should stick to writing about music instead of making it!! very nice mix!

Nicely done!
Yeah, yeah, yeah!!! Sure, there were misses - but when they hit.... Dig all the tracks here.

So many classics!
I'm with Lally! Changed my life, this label.....
This looks absolutely classic to me. I need one of these ASAP.
