Comment:

With an excellent roster, wacky promotional ideas, hilarious logos and a maybe just bit of lucky timing; Stiff Records was my favorite label of their era. Having recently learned that today is the twenty eighth anniversary of the release of Nick Lowe's "So It Goes", the label's first single, I finally got around to a compilation I'd been meaning to do ever since picking up the box-set. Reviewing the discography revealed way more misses to hits than I recalled, especially during the last five years of the label's existence. Nevertheless, with a coupla dozen classics to their name I'd still say Stiff Records was more than worth a fuck.

Brilliant! I absolutely love your cover, and of course the mix itself is wonderful - ending with the Pogues is great, and love the Feelies pick too.

last time i dipped into the stiff box i was struck by how listenable it all seemed. i never associated motorhead or pigbag with stiff. where's yachts, mickey jupp and kirsty maccoll? and you can never have too much wreckless eric for my taste.
