Comment:
Thanks to Sean Lally for the Archies track and thanks to Saaf who provided the link to Dana Countryman's Album of the Month which provided the Peter Nero cut. Whew.Feedback:
That Archies track is one of the earliest memories I have of 'Top of The Pops' Apparently The Archies were a bunch of session musicians the identities of whom remains unknown - or so I've heard anyway! Oh yeh nearly forgot to say nice mix Curtis!
Why anyone would thank anyone for that particular Archies track is beyond me. (Sorry, but that is probably my most hated song. There -- I've said it!) Still, the Archies notwithstanding, this is a very good mix. I particularly like the Peter Nero, Funkadelic, Maria Muldaur, Elvis C, Dirtbombs, Fall, and Thinking Fellers. Great variety. But the Archies???????
Nice.
This looks great. Really great. Super great. Fantastic. And I *like* "Sugar Sugar", personally, although "Sunshine" kicks its ass. ;-) Special props for that Tall Dwarfs song... very moving yet very catchy.
This is one I can appreciate because I am familar with a lot of it. Tip of the hat to 1,2,4,5,14,18,21-24!
loadsa smashin' tracks here, Curtis. My favs are Fab Four, EC, Clinic, and Maria Muldaur.
Lots of great picks here... too many to list except maybe ahh the archies.
Hey Curtis, if you're still desiring a copy of my Really Bad Music mix then I think we have a real trade possibility here.
Wasn't Ron Dante, who was a big part of Barry Manilow's career, the voice of the Archies? I'm sort of partial to "Jingle Jangle" myself.

Sweetness.
I thought this said "A drink and a beer ..." what does this say about my state of mind? Love to see the Archies, too. Underrated (but not undersold) song ... Doesn't Wilson Pickett do a great version of that? Kudos all around.
Mind-bogglingly great, Curtis. I absolutely love the Archies->Peter Nero sequence and the rest looks especially outstanding. We may have to cook up another trade here soon, if you're up for it. I think I need this one. :-)
the album that PIL song's from is real lost treasure
although there are songs from our past that we'd sometimes rather not admit to, hearing / liking..... after "oh so many years" only makes you realize just how "unconditioned" we were as youths! thumbs up for an interesting mix!
The Fall, Au Pairs, yer takin' me back. And stand up for the parallel Archie universe. Mad House Glads!
I PARTICUARLY like the song connections..all in all a damn fine looking mix Curtis..you're the top...no I am..No YOU ARE!
Ahhh, I've been listening to the great Cole Porter myself lately. And didn't the Archies do "Begin the Beguine"? .... Maybe not.
Excellent - once again, a mix with too many choice picks to single out! But I must say, nice Au Pairs and Wire tracks.
I'll always support anyone who can sandwich the Archies between Thinking Fellars and Oneida. And it's nice to see the Tall Dwarfs, although that's the only song I've heard from that album (which I have never seen in a store - hence my not owning it).
