Compromise Ourselves
Comment:
Thanks to the hi-fi of lo-fi jr for the Gits track.Fuck...Ok, ok, of course the Gits track is from Trout Fishing in Outer Space an incomparable Mohr mix. By way of an explanation (not an excuse, an explanation), I've stolen a track from a lo-fi jr mix for an upcoming mix and inexcusably mixed up the acknowledgments. Crime really doesn't pay does it?Anyway, I will send a private message to Mohr, but thought a public mea culpa appropriate. And just so everyone knows, I am having myself (a little to the left...thanks...) paddled right now as punishment.Feedback:
You really can't go wrong with the Carpenters or Elvis. So when you put them together, you get double points.
This is great. I will have to search out the Skeeter Davis/NRBQ
This is great, man.
my favorite belle & sebastian song, and anyone who can put the carpenters on the same mix as black dice, is either a genius, or in need of psychiatric help, ha.
Could only be appreciated by people like us.
Lots that I know here, and that I love! A terrific mix Curtis.
This is absolutely excellent! I have always loved the NRBQ/Skeeter collaboration, and also love the tunes by...hell, I love it all! Excellent!
Lots to like here but my fav. is 'Shakey's' little ditty.
Apart from the fact that I suspect you got the Gits from yours truly, this looks mighty fine, indeed, M. Brvlant.
THis is a very nice one, Curtis. I do need to check out the Sugar track.
Yes, this is a superb Burns mix. Love love love the opening ... is that the same song the E Beat covered?
Fan-fucking-tastic, Mr. Burns! The Elvis into Black Dice seals the deal for me everytime. :-)
This looks like a phenomenal mix, Curits.
Really excellent - I love too much to name on here. What stands out for me is that lovely B&S pick, Dusty Springfield and the great ending!
jesus curtis, this rocks. the whole thing of course, but the 10-13 stretch is particularly inspired.
love the liner notes! What a hoot. Great mix, too.
you seem sad ? great mix anyway
Yeah! i think this is my "mix of the week" :) Really Great!
Wow...loaded & rawkin' (11/24); nice one Curtis.
Intrigued by The Louis track...nice to see Elvis squashed into the mix...great stuff, Curtis...!
Looks superb, Curtis. I like the opening section and the Carpenters moments (also making a brief appearance on my next Mood).
OMG! I ain't worthy!
The 'Brains on a mix with Dionne Warwick and Dusty Springfield? Inspired!
Lookin' good.
OK, this one is just kicking my ass in the most amazing way! Too many great choices to single anything out. You are THIS close to having a AotM wing named after you.
Really awesome - I'd love to hear this one....I'm listening to the People Like Us deconstruction of "Close to You" and it is fucking brilliant.
