Comment:
They were on little-known labels like Parlourphone and Clubbo. Not all of their songs made the top ten on the Billboard charts, but they always hit number one with a silver bullet in my heart. These are the sometimes forgotten, often seeming unreal mythical heroes of rock-folk-a-punk-a-suthrn-rock'n'roll. Some of them went on to fame and not so much fortune. Some of them drove their cars off bridges in South Jersey. Some of them weren't really bad, they were just drawn that way. Their history is the history of American popular culture today.
This mix was inspired by and is dedicated to Cruella, wherever she is...

Feedback:
This is quite superb. I love the liner notes too. When we next trade, Joe, this is top of my wants list, my friend.
Don't know much at here Joe & thus add me to the wants list please. I went to Prague once - ended up getting married as a result!
Great idea. I'd love to hear this.
A truly inspired mix for a truly inspiring mixer.
This looks like great fun.
Really brilliant, and I love your concept. Hooray for The Rutles and Mitch and Mickey! I'd love to hear this too someday.
Wow! I am so flattered; not just by the content, but the effort you've put into this. Love the hyperlinks (especially after having read the online article on web-based fiction and Clubbo). Can't wait to hear it. Thanks Joe.
Okay, just listened to Rubber Lover! LOL!
What a fun concept Clubbo is!

I am so happy to see this. You know, 12vman--there are those that say that Eddie Wilson didn't really die in that crash--those who claim to have glimpsed him walking the streets at night, flesh and blood. Maybe we'll never know...
C - I just knew you'd dig this concept & Clubbo! This'll be comin' to ya as soon as I pull a few other surprises together...
Randy13 - Eddie Wilson's "death" is nearly as mythical as that of Paul McCartney's....I actually think I saw him at a hardware store in Somer's Point this past summer (not Paul, Eddie) - He was buying a gallon of paint and a broom ...Eddie Lives!
And thanks to all of the rest of you for the kind comments - good vibrations to all.

Not a bad alternate universe to live in, especially if it includes The Wayouts.
Very nice indeed!
Looks fantastically weird!
Nothing is real.
Great mix. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the Monkees and Eddie & the Cruisers.
I am so ignorant!
I LOVE IT! Let me know if you want to trade for this - I did something similar called "They're not even a real band, for crissake!" Perfect companion piece. And yes, hooray for the Rutles, obviously. But the Archies, Banana Splits, et. al. had great hitmakers behind them. Even the dreck of the 60s & 70s was frequently better than the (s)hitmakers of today. Enough sermonizing. You included that New Main Street Singers song, too - what a great visual that was. Over the top ridiculous. Well done!
looks good and agree with previous replies. btw SL, keep sermonizing....ya know it's true!
You put the Way Outs on a mix and I'm gonna smile. Actually most of this makes me smile. Great concept. -Dale

This mix is a blast! Love the choices you made that weren't from the site. It took a lot of restraint for me not to listen to the site before receiving the disc, but I managed no to, and I'm glad I did.
I'd love to hear this sometime, too...good work.
