Comment:
A mix made for the beautiful and talented RoxyShocks to commemorate her wedding. Included with the "Best Mix Ever", the second part of 160 minutes of sonic goodness. This disc is highly eclectic. Even though everything has an indie slant, it runs the full spectrum from voodoo-tinged New Orleans jazz/blues (Jolie Holland - "Old Fashioned Morphine") to rockabilly (Shakin' Stevens - "This Ole House"), from raw rock Iggy would be proud of (Von Bondies - "Broken Man") to folk-tinged, Nick Drake-esque (is that even a word?)beauty (Sufjan Stevens - "To Be Alone With You", Iron and Wine - "Lion's Mane"), from indie rock classics (Sebadoh - "Ocean") to indie band-of-the-moment hits (Franz Ferdinand - "Darts of Pleasure). I guess I'm trying to say there is a tiny bit of variety to the disc :).Feedback:
I like the, ahem, folk-tinged Nick Drake-esque beauty.
LOL. Yeah, me too... Thanks for the comment.
#9 is terrific
Yeah, #9 is definitely one of the "coolest" instrumentals I know.
Nice mix especially #21
