Comment:
As much as I love the original Echo and the Bunnymen/Duran Duran/Tears for Fears fare, I decided the movie needed it's own new wave/darkwave soundtrack.Songs with asterisks by them are either included in the director's cut version of the video or rumoured to have been considered in the making of the movie.
I tried to make this so that it fit the moody theme of DD, most of them have lyrics that relate to it in some manner. I also picked them from the timeframe of '80-'88, for authenticity.
Feedback:
This mix stands by itself, whether one thinks it fits the DD motif or not. Particularly enjoy the cabaret voltaire and depeche picks. And 'dear god' is one of xtc's finest moments.
Very interesting. I think I like it!
very well thought out, this is the most impressive mix i've seen in a while
This is brilliant. Always thought that Spangle Maker (esp the final minute and a half) and Just Another Day would work perfectly in a film. Pretty flawless.
