Comment:

lol yeah I know it's way early for this but for some reason I'm so excited about halloween this year. I just used soem of these songs are my last few mixes because I was getting antsy. Think I will do this every year, make a new updated version. This is a 2 cd set meant to be played back to back. I guess I envisioned this being the soundtrack to a party because there are lots of good songs to dance to. Some songs aren't about anything halloweeny but I still find fit the theme like 'puttin on the ritz' or 'rock lobster'. Actually whenever I hear 'puttin on the ritz' I imagine skeletons in top hats. Is that from a video or just me?

Looks good and creepy - and I agree w/you - Puttin' on the Ritz is a top-ten hit on Skeleton Radio...

A science teacher I worked with had a dancing skeleton toy in a tux and top hat that played "Putting on the Ritz". She played it at the start of each class every day in October. If you look at this like a party, then the catpower signifies the dying end, with Hurt basically declaring the party over. I love Everybody Knows and the Specials.

yup, i'm starting work on my halloween mix, too, and my girlfriend is already done hers. "putting on the ritz" is on hers and creeps me out more than any other song i've ever heard.

Evidently not too early at all as I saw a house decorated for Halloween just today. Very cool mix. That Styx track is especially scary ;-)

Halloween mixes are always good no matter how early (or late) they're created.
