Comment:

I'm back .... briefly. I've been busy trying to move to a different house, but you can see what's been on my mind. We have an important election coming up, the most important since ..... well, since the LAST one (ahhhh .... if only we knew then what we know now). As the immortal Sunnyland advises, "be careful how you vote." And, I might add, do what you can do. Give money. Give time. (Re-)defeat the Evil Empire! Save America! Save the world! By the way, are you registered to vote yet? In many states, the deadline to register to vote in the November election is as early as October 2! What are you waiting for?!?!?
"Watch out now, take care, beware of greedy leaderswho take you where you should not go." --George Harrison

I haven't posted in a while, but I've got to come out for this one. Great, great stuff in both message and music. Love it.

Fine job on the sentiment and the mix. Lots of songs I would have forgotten about had I tried the same thing. I really love the Phil Oches song and also dig the Harrison choice. Even though it looks like we're voting the same way I can't fully endorse the brownshirt with anything more than a misguided chuckle. And of course, lots of our international AotMers aren't going to be able to register but they should be able to dig the mix just the same.

I've given up on Bush/Blair politics & am trying to get my head around French politics! Give me a few years & I might have sussed the French psyche regarding politics (though I doubt it) Local elections out in my neck of the woods scared the shit out of me 2 years ago when Fascists received a sizeable proportion of people's votes! TrTs trTs bonne melangT.

ok we got some bad politicans in here Sweden but hey yours are dangerous for the whole Tellus, I'm not sure Kerry's great (if he been in a swedish election, he would really right on the rightwingest politician) but anything I mean anything must be better then what you got right now. btw nice stuff even if I may be the only one that thinks Steve Earle are overated and pretty boring ;)

But in the interests of balance, let's not forget that George Harrison (and John Lennon) preached one thing and practised quite another - capitalism and tax avoidance. Who did the writer of "Taxman" think should pay for social justice, I wonder?

agree with the sentiments, although as i age, a choice isn't really only "2 or 3 people" if you know what i mean. would like this one!?? remember David Frye and his Nixon/Agnew album? "Spiro, when Mickeys big hand.....etc, etc." where's the comedy relief these days i ax ya?

Yeah! Woody Guthrie will come through for you in the end. & that James Brown "Funky president" is a classic -- The historical perspective is illuminating - notice how each new US administration makes the previously worst one look good by comparison? But can we imagine any successor who will ever do this for Junior Bush?
