Comment:
The title is derived from a Maude quote in the film. Someone has probably already done this before, but my inspiration came within the last few weeks...the subtitle is "Because Cat Stevens is an Arab-loving, America-hating, no-good Muslim terrorist." (And boy am I glad we kept his treacherous ass from getting into the country -- who knows what kind of havoc he could have caused with a guitar. Shudder.) Incidentally, the Kristin Hersh track is a Stevens cover.Feedback:
Well...while it did seem silly to keep Yusuf Islam (the artists formerly known as Cat Stevens) out of the country, it is true that the little muh-fuh does contribute money to organizations sympathetic to terrorism.
So...through a sequence of logical thought: he uses that gee-tah to earn money...then he tranfers a portion of that money to terrorist sympathizers...so go figure.

I think my sarcasm got the better of me -- I'm aware of his ties to terrorism, HOWEVER one feels compelled to ask that if he was seen as such a threat, why was he allowed on an incoming flight to the U.S. in the first place?
The music speaks for itself, as our intentions mean nothing in the final analysis. And this is a good mix. Nuff said.
Very nice! (I covered this subject twice!)
Nice mix Heather but I gotta say old Yusef is a man of peace & me thinks the U.S. authorities were wrong. The man still hasn't received any good explanation toward the reason for his exclusion.
Not only is this a great idea, but this is a great mix. :-)
Excellent mix. And it's a bit ridiculous to keep him out of the US.
I can hear most of this in my mind, sounds good heatherspace! Another quality mix from one of the best.
oh dear, not is only is harold and maude one of the greatest movies ever made but this mix kicks some hardcore ass.
This is one of my favorite movies. Cat says he was misquoted about the whole Rushdie thing and in the interview I remember reading it sounded believable. This is the first I have heard about terrorist connections, though.
I think Starkat put it better than I ever could. Very fine.
Apologies for the lateness here, Heather, and yeah, the whole no-covers thing is starting to annoy me ever so slightly (!) as well....The Cat Stevens thing is really ridiculous, but I won't go on about it - but a really well-executed mix deriving from that. I absolutely love the M. Ward -> end stretch (I always find the Bunnymen go well at the end of mixes!) Nice La's pick too - and the Kristin Hersh inclusion is great, of course. Overall, yet another commendable mix!
