Comment:

if there was one thing my life was missing, it was a mix in which queens of the stone age could be placed next to gene kelly. my life is now complete, i can die a happy woman. because i know you all follow my mixes religiously, you may be asking yourself, "wait, didn't this girl already make a mix about water? what the fuck is her obsession here?" to you i say, this is not a mix about water, this is a storm mix (notice the inclusion of thunder, lightning, and storm related songs) and, really, is language like that really necessary? it was inspired by the pogues song because during a torrential downpour, i decided to be really smart and walk to a job interview in soho. needless to say i was a little damp when i got there and, consequently, got sick. first half of the mix (the a side if you will) is kind of a downer. it's for those storms where you just want to sit in your bed and drink herbal tea and contemplate things. the second part (b side) is the "oh my god, i need to get out of my room but can't because it's raining outside so i'm just going to dance like a maniac" part. i have this bad habit of putting songs that don't really fit in with the rest of the mix at the end (ala the ronnetes and the weathergirls) but this mix wasn't sassy enough without them. title comes the xtc song.

It's a crime no one has commented previously on this mix. Self included here, don't know where the fuck I've been to miss your mixes but Starkat is definitely a name I'll be looking out for now.
