Comment:

For the hell of it. Kind of a companion to my last mixed-genre submission. Title from the liner notes of "The Golden Apples of the Sun", a fantastic mail-order compilation of modern acid-folk compiled by Devendra Banhart; the comp, btw, features both the Joanna Newsom and Entrance songs.

Home grown goodness! I might even be able to get through the Buckley & Steely Dan tracks when their surrounded by the likes of Suicide, Ubu, Can, Clean & the Swell Maps. Oh yeah, & a favorite by the Mekons as well.

Very nice, Rob. BTW, I'll be glad to send you the "one size does not fit all" (and some other goodies) if you wanna trade me some of these tasty mixed genre discs you've been doing lately. :)

"Sweet Lady Genevieve" -- one of my favorite Kinks songs. Hell, one of the finest songs every, period. BTW, saw that the Swell Maps are getting reissued. Never a big fan first time around (though I really enjoyed Epic Soundtracks' sadly brief solo career).

Wow - I like the sound of that compilation; I especially love Joanna Newsom and I'm glad someone agrees with me, because it seems like quite a few people don't. :( Anyway, otherwise, great picks on here - love that Robert Wyatt, the Buddy Holly, and of course the Buckley. Nice.
