Comment:
One of those guys who doesn't get much play anymore: Al Stewart. This is such a small collection, and is only my top 15 songs by him basically, though I enjoy his entire catalogue. He is an amazing songwriter, and after seeing him Sept. 25th in Philly, he's still a great performer. My dad was in love with this guy back in the 70s (and still is), and now I kind of see why. Anyone who can write these kind of songs is in my book one of the most talented songwriters ever. This doesn't really celebrate everything he's done, but it does touch on his major albums. It misses his first four (dont' have them on CD) and a couple later ones, and draws more heavily from Time Passages, Year of the Cat and Past Present & Future. I'll make sure to have a volume two up here soon, because 15 songs is just not enough.Feedback:
been a long time since i've thought of al. his early albums were indeed very good, as was his songwriting as you say. his back up group: Sutherland Brothers were very good also!
